Constitutions Marsh July 13, 2003 Hudson Valley Outfitters Mary and my very first time kayaking. Hudson Valley Outfitters provided all the equipment and instructions necessary for novices to be able to survive a day on the water. My House May 3, 2003 Mel, Matt, Luke, Judy, Mom & John Part of the family gathered to visit with my mother. Mel and Mat brought Luke to see his Great-Grandmother. His Grandmother (Judy) was there also. Lake Taghkonic State Park July 26, 2003 Mary & John John wanted to test out his new kayak on smooth waters. A nice large lake fit the bill perfectly. The park is fairly close to John’s house and has protected water and a nice beach to launch from. Parking is convenient and close. Tivoli Bays August 9, 2003 Mary & John Mary gets a new kayak. We head to Tivoli Bays to try it out. Tivoli Bays, NY August 29, 2003 Mary & John Fun paddle on Tivoli Bays. Copake Lake, NY August 31, 2003 Mary & John Hard lake to access. Most of the shoreline is private. Pretty lake and friendly people. Hudson River Paddle September 21, 2003 Mid-Hudson Kayak Club Newly formed club. We got in and joined on a nice paddle from Tivoli, NY almost to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge and back. Nice group of people. Bannerman Island October 11, 2003 Mary, John & Cold Spring Kayak Club Cold Spring Kayak Club allowed Mary & me (non-members) to join a kayak paddle from Cold Spring to Pollepel Island (Bannerman Island). We helped clean up a garden, had lunch and got a tour of the island. Delaware Kayaking Trip August 25 & 26, 2003 Mary & John We spent a couple of days kayaking on ponds/lakes in the nice state of Delaware. We stayed with Mary’s sister & brother-in-law. Nice ponds. Nice time.
This is the year Mary and John first tried to kayak. After the first guided tour in a rental we were hooked. The pictures of 2003 will show: - Our first kayak outting at Constitution Marsh - John and Mary, both, get their own kayaks - Lakes, ponds and rivers as we learn our kayaks and explore
