                                                             Low Country, South Carolina Vacation
                  Barbara & John spend a week exploring the Low Country area of SC
            We did a couple of paddles with my good friend Michael (of Low Country
                   Paddlers)

                                                      John Burroughs' Slabsides, West Park, NY
      Property belongs to Smithsonian and they have an open house twice a year.
                       Guided walk on the property and the Slabsides was open to view.

Weekend trip to Maine
Wanted to visit LL Bean store and see some sites
Visited the store, had some good food, and managed two sites.
                                                                   Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, ME
                                         Asked at LL Bean where to go for some nature/birding.
                                      One of the places was nature walk behind the cemetery.

                                                       Hudson River Cruise from West Point, NY
            Barbara's friend Sallyann offered us a ride on an Army (West Point) boat.
                                             We turned around a couple of times due to weather.
                         Nice day.  Different view than I get from a kayak.  And less work.

                                   Wanted a nice flat water paddle with the of seeing wildlife.
                                        The Hudson River near Coxsackie never lets me down.

                         Sorry for all the Bald Eagle photos, but they were so photogenic.
                                                        Beautiful day.  Nice wildlife.  Great company.

                                         Slide Mountain Hike, Slide Mountain, Catskills, NY
                                                     Hiked to the top of Slide Mountain for the view.
                      Clouds totally covered top of mountain...no view.  None.  Very wet.

   Hiked to the falls.  Trail rocky but faily easy.  Stairs built in at hardest sections.
                                Beautiful sunny day.  Too sunny.  Hard to get good pictures.

                                             Early fall Paddle to see if the leaves were changing.

                                Did see turtles and Belted Kingfishers & Great Blue Herons.

                                  Arrived late Friday, had all day Saturday and early Sunday.
